El pasado día 30 de marzo El Dr. Ignacio Hernandez Radiólogo Intervencionista del Hospital La Candelaria de Tenerife llevó a cabo la primera cirugía del sistema TEKTONA®2 en España dentro del lanzamiento limitado; Es a su vez el primer Radiólogo intervencionista en utilizar el sistema en Europa, El manejo intraoperatorio del dispositivo TEKTONA®2 y el postoperatorio del paciente son sumamente satisfactorios.

El día 31 de marzo el Dr. Mollá Neurocirujano del Hospital general de Alicante llevo a cabo el 2º caso siendo el primer Neurocirujano en utilizar el sistema con excelente Resultado en la evolución del paciente y que constata la efectividad del sistema.

On February 22^nd 2021, Dr. Andrés Barriga Martín, Head of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology in the National Hospital of Paraplegics of Toledo, Spain, was the first surgeon in Europe to successfully use the PERLA® Cervical, including occipital plates and adjustable rods, to perform an occiput to C4 posterior cervical fusion procedure.

The PERLA® Posterior Occipito-Cervico-Thoracic fixation system completes the new Thoracolumbar PERLA® TL system, which is expected to be fully launched in 2021. PERLA® is now a complete platform of implants and instruments bringing procedural efficiency to all posterior spinal fusions from the occiput to the pelvis.

SCARLET® AC-T is the first stand-alone cervical device offered by Spineart. Spineart is proud to announce that the first cervical disc arthroplasty surgeries ever done in Uruguay were performed using the BAGUERA® C Cervical Disc Prosthesis.

In January 2021, Dr Alvaro Rocchietti successfully performed the two procedures at the British Hospital de Montevideo. 

Dr Rocchietti commented “The two patients had an excellent post-operative result, without pain and a full recovery of their pre-operative symptoms. They are both satisfied with the outcome of the surgery”. 

The BAGUERA® C Cervical Disc Prosthesis is an MRI safe spinal device. The endplates of the BAGUERA® C are anatomically shaped and their inner bearing surfaces are coated with a diamond-like material that features a low coefficient of friction. Spineart is proud to announce the first surgeries involving PERLA^® TL Cortical, the new Posterior Thoraco-lumbar Fixation System.

On January 19th, the first world-wide surgery with the new PERLA^® TL Cortical system was a one-level fusion from L4 to L5, performed by Dr. Jeroen Ceuppens at AZ Groeninge in Kortrijk, Belgium. A week later, on January 25th, the first PERLA^® TL Cortical case in the US was a two-level fusion from L4 to S1, performed by Dr. Jason Huffman, MD at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, California. 

Dr. Ceuppens said “The system gives a very good tactile feeling when connecting the modular head onto the screw shank. You can feel it when the head is seated onto the screw and the final locking is tactile and audibly confirmed.“

Dr. Huffman commented on the new system that, “The PERLA^® TL Cortical system offers simplified, streamlined instrumentation. The modular shanks provided improved visibility and workflow and attaching the modular heads was quick and intuitive. Overall, PERLA^® TL Cortical fully addresses the unique demands of the cortical approach and is among the best systems I have used.”

PERLA® TL Cortical, with its dual pitch threads, modular head, cortical trajectory technique, and specific retractor and distractor, is the newest addition to Spineart’s next generation screw platform, PERLA® TL. Further extensions of the PERLA® TL fixation system are expected to be announced during 2021.
