The British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS), UK’s number one annual spine meeting

The British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS), UK’s number one annual spine meeting, was held this year on April 3-5th, at the Brighton Centre, located right on the lovely Brighton seafront. The event brought together over 150 clinicians and allied health staff from around the world to expand their knowledge and networks. This year’s focus was on technological advances in spinal conditions, particularly; navigation, robotics and minimally invasive spine surgery.

We’re pleased to report that Dr. Fransen’s BAGUERA® C Experience talk, at the Hotel Du Vin, was well-attended. The take-home message was as follows: Cervical disc replacement with the BAGUERA® C prosthesis has an excellent record in terms of safety, clinical results and long term motion preservation. There was no index or adjacent level reoperation after 5 years. Radiological progression of adjacent level degeneration was seen in a significant minority of cases, but without clinical expression.
