8'200 BAGUERA®C IMPLANTED WORLDWIDE
Geneva, 21 February 2013. Spineart is pleased to announce that, as of the 31st of December 2012, more than 8’200 BAGUERA®C had been implanted successfully worldwide. The first surgery was held in France in January 2007. Since then, this device has been implanted in 25 countries.
BAGUERA®C, a cervical disc prosthesis of lastest generation, is the first pre-assembled and MRI compatible disc with a guided mobile PE nucleus and designed to absorb shocks.
All Spineart implants are sterile packed and bar-coded for increased safety, procedure compliance and cost-efficiency.

SPINEART TO SELL DIRECT IN ITALY
Spineart, the international pure spine company offering a full range of Swiss made Fusion, Motion and M.I.S. spinal implants focused on simplicity and safety of use, announced the opening of a direct sales and distribution subsidiary in Italy, Spineart Italia Srl. Spineart is strengthening its relationships with Italian surgeons and hospitals by establishing a network of direct salesforce and local distributors solely focused on this market. Spineart’s expansion into Italy will be supported by the rapid adoption in this country of its recently launched ROMEO®2 PAD I.S.P.F. device and ROMEO®2 M.I.S. K-wireless system. The first ROMEO®2 M.I.S. SPINEART ACADEMY IN HAMBURG, GERMANY
As part of the Spineart Academy 2012, Spineart just conducted in close collaboration with the University of Hamburg and GE Healthcare the 4th consecutive CME accredited course on motion preservation and minimally invasive spine surgery techniques. During two days, over 50 surgeons from 13 countries were introduced to Spineart’s latest spine surgery technologies through scientific lectures and hands-on specimen workshops led by a renowned international surgeon faculty from France, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. In 2013, the Spineart Academy will expand its activities with a new program of sophisticated, international training sessions to be communicated soon.
FIRST 5-LEVEL MIS SURGERY WORLDWIDE USING SPINEART'S K-WIRELESS SYSTEM
Dr. Slawomir Moszko, MD, Neurosurgeon, OA of the department of Neurosurgery at the Klinikum Deggendorf, Germany, successfully performed the world’s first 5 level MIS percutaneous construct without K-wire using Spineart’s system.
Spineart has achieved a new milestone in Minimally Invasive spine surgery by providing the world’s first Minimally Invasive K-wireless spinal fixation system, ROMEO®2 MIS.
The opportunity to operate without the K-wires is designed to improve the procedural efficiency, reduce the infection risk and the radiation exposure. The ROMEO®2 MIS can be used with a mini-open or percutaneous approach.

NEW OPTION IN CORRECTION OF SPINAL DEFORMITIES
Spineart is adding new reducer tubes to its ROMEO®2 LC system to provide an alternative tool to surgeons for vertebrae derotation. The tubes allow for multi-level progressive rod-persuasion, application of a cantilever force for derotation and fast release.
ROMEO®2 LC is a posterior fixation system completing the ROMEO®2 range and designed to enable thoracic and iliac fixations thanks to a unique streamlined tip design of its screws, available in various diameters and sizes, a large range of auto-stable hooks, rods available in different materials and rod connectors. The system is designed to answer the needs for traumatologic, tumors and scoliotic treatments.

A NEW MILESTONE IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE SPINE SURGERY
Spineart is adding a new instrument to its ROMEO®2 MIS system, offering a pure percutaneous minimally invasive solution to perform long constructs (multi-level), especially for the treatment of trauma and tumor indications.
The minimally invasive posterior fixation system ROMEO®2 MIS in combination with ROMEO®2 MIS RETRACTOR system and the JULIET®OL and JULIET®TL cages offers a complete minimally invasive solution in order to perform M.I.S. 3 column stabilization.
Spineart has reached a new milestone in minimally invasive spine surgery by providing the world’s first minimally invasive K-wireless spinal fixation system, ROMEO®2 MIS.
