In Miami last week, deformity surgeons from Latin America, Spain and the USA had the invaluable opportunity to share their techniques and learn from their peers. Over the course of 2 days, 30 participants contributed their insights on osteotomies and derotation, as well as thoracic and sacroiliac fixation, both in the classroom and the anatomical lab at the Miami Anatomical Research Center (MARC) Institute.

Spineart is proud to partner with Dr. Hyun Bae at the Spine Institute, Santa Monica, California as part of two clinical trials evaluating BAGUERA® C, a new cervical disc replacement option for patients with degenerative cervical disc disease.
The clinical trials are evaluating the BAGUERA® C cervical artificial disc, which is designed to help maintain the natural behavior and mobility of a functional cervical spine.
Unlike spinal disc fusion, a common surgical treatment option, the goal of cervical disc replacement is to help preserve motion of the cervical spine or spinal segment after surgery. This can provide patients with improved quality of life after treatment.

We would like to thank the two Chairmen, Dr. Gregory Edgard-Rosa and Prof Constantin Schizas FRCS, as well as the four Faculties, Dr. Martin Janata, Dr. Francesco Caiazzo, Dr. Mudit Sharma and Dr. Joe Lee, for their expertise during the two-day Anterior Lumbar Academy held at the SWISS Foundation for Innovation and Training in Surgery (SFITS) laboratory in Geneva.
Thirty surgeons from around the globe had the opportunity to train on the anterior lumbar spine approach on re-vascularized anatomical specimens. They shared tips and tricks on a variety of techniques and discussed cases during these interactive sessions.
