First European surgery performed with the new PERLA® Posterior Occipito-Cervico-Thoracic Fixation System

On February 22nd 2021, Dr. Andrés Barriga Martín, Head of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology in the National Hospital of Paraplegics of Toledo, Spain, was the first surgeon in Europe to successfully use the PERLA® Cervical, including occipital plates and adjustable rods, to perform an occiput to C4 posterior cervical fusion procedure.

The PERLA® Posterior Occipito-Cervico-Thoracic fixation system completes the new Thoracolumbar PERLA® TL system, which is expected to be fully launched in 2021. PERLA® is now a complete platform of implants and instruments bringing procedural efficiency to all posterior spinal fusions from the occiput to the pelvis.
